Hey guys,
I'm on vacation from September 1st to September 12th and plan to upgrade our servers to Debian 13 (Trixie) during this time. I'll let you know as soon as possible when there will be downtime. :) core.envs.net needs to be upgraded to Debian 12 before this step. We skipped this release on the core server because I never got around to it.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I've been involved in a few Trixie upgrades at the weekend so thought I'd offer some unsolicited advice:
Dovecot is not a simple upgrade on Trixie, and I've also seen issues with new versions of Docker causing issues (specifically with couchdb). You'll also need to ensure you've migrated to UsrMerge too before upgrading to Trixie. Other than that it's mostly gone smoothly, especially on servers with little customisation of core configuration.
https://michael-prokop.at/blog/2025/07/20/what-to-expect-from-debian-trixie-... covers most of the key changes, which users may be interested in reading ahead of the upgrade. I'd add that curl now supports HTTP/3, and note that anyone using python virtualenvs might need to do some work to recreate post-upgrade
https://www.debian.org/releases/trixie/release-notes/upgrading.en.html covers the general upgrade process well
And the people in #debian on the OFTC IRC network are helpful in case of issues
Good luck with the upgrades
Thanks Alice
PS. If anyone's attending HOPE_16 conference remotely at the weekend, I'll see you in the Matrix rooms
